FØR MØRKET er basert på den sanne historien om 15 dramatiske timer på Leger Uten Grensers feltsykehus i Bangui julaften 2013
Borgerkrigen mellom kristne og muslimske militser herjer i Den sentralafrikanske republikk. Linn (Kristine Kujath Thorp) leder et team med hjelpearbeidere som jobber på spreng for å redde liv i et provisorisk feltsykehus utenfor den massive kristneflyktningeleiren i hovedstaden Bangui. Plutselig løper en desperat mann inn på klinikken. Han er muslim, og det er tydelig at han er forfulgt og i livsfare. Alle holder pusten.
På utsiden av sykehusgjerdet vokser sinnet i menneskemassene. Den kristne militsen vil ha muslimen utlevert og drept. Linn har ansvar for sikkerheten. Uten våpen og annet å forsvare seg med må hun ta umulige valg, handle raskt og bryte alle regler. Skal hun overlate et menneske til den sikre død, eller risikere livet til dem alle?
